The Nike KD 15 keeps much of what we enjoyed from the Nike KD 14 and updates some other features that make these slightly better. One of the things kept was the cushion setup. We get a full-length Cushlon midsole and a Zoom Air Strobel unit. It’s lower to the ground this year, which makes it better for guards. The strap has been replaced with lateral and medial lockdown wings, which are effective.
There are no apparent weaknesses with the Nike KD 15. It’s difficult not to recommend the shoe to everyone, whether playing indoors or outdoors.
The Nike KD 14 is one of the best shoes of 2021, if not the best shoe. It probably is easily the most versatile and the most likely to please any type of hooper.
The KD 14 provides great traction, great cushion, decent materials, solid fit and decent support.
The fit can be a bit tricky so going up a half size or trying them on in store is recommended. If you get the fit right, your body will enjoy the cushioning combo of a full-length Zoom Air strobel and Cushlon midsole. It’s the perfect recipe for playing multiple hours without pain.

Although the Nike KD 13 was an excellent shoe, it felt like a step back from the KD 12, which was an all-time great performer.
The traction and cushion were both standout features for the KD 13 but the forefoot containment and stability were issues. They weren’t terrible, but they could be improved. The KD 13 feels a bit more disappointing because it was preceded by such a great shoe.

The KD 11 was, unfortunately, a very disappointing model. The KD 9 and the KD 10 were good models (the 9 a bit better than the 10), but the KD 11 was a complete step backward.
The full knit upper was wildly inconsistent and offered very poor support and fit.
It wasn’t all bad, the traction and materials were ok, and the cushion was actually pretty good, but none of these features could make up for the lack of support.

The Nike KD 9 is a great model, one of the best of the Kevin Durant signature line. The KD 9 features solid traction, fantastic cushion, great materials, and a solid and secure fit for optimal support.
The KD 9 is the type of shoe that you will probably want to get in a bunch of different colorways. They are that good.
The 2016-17 season Kevin Durant would join the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors immediately became the favorite team to take home the NBA championship, and that is exactly what they did. With Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant’s 25 ppg, 8 rbpg and 5 apg, the Warriors coasted to the finals and defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in 5 games.

The KD 8 was a very solid on court performer. They have beastly traction and full cushion coverage. The woven upper performed very well, requiring little break-in time and offering tons of support.
The 2015-16 season would be the last season Kevin Durant would play with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He would turn in one last monster year for OKC, averaging 28 ppg, 8 rbpg and 5 apg. OKC finished the season with a total of 55 wins and were able to make it all the way to the Western Conference Finals. There, they would face the Golden State Warriors, and pushed them to 7 games, but would ultimately come up short.
The Nike KD was an interesting shoe. There are several classic colorways of the shoe, but the most notorious version of the KD 8 was the KD elite. The elite version came with a long, sock-like upper that made the shoe look very odd and futuristic. It had no impact on the performance of the shoe, but it definitely made the KD 8Elite an oddity among all the other shoes to drop that year.

The KD 7 was one of the top performers of 2014. An extremely well-rounded shoe in nearly every category.
If there is anything to criticize it’s the ventilation. The shoe uses an eclectic assortment of materials along the upper that affect the ventilation, but it isn’t a huge drawback. The rest of the shoe was either good or great.
Kevin Durant was only able to lace’em up for 26 games during the 2014-15 season. In the short amount of time he was still able to keep up more than decent averages of 26 ppg, 6 rbpg and 4 apg. The Oklahoma City Thunder struggled with out hm and ended the season with 47 wins.
The Nike KD 7 had many different colorways, and similar to the 6, several different builds. By far the most popular colorway of the KD 7 was the “Aunt Perl” colorway, which featured the first winged strap, that would later show up on other KD models.

The KD 6 is a really fun shoe. Not as good as the KD 5 but close. The traction wasn’t the best, but as long as you wipe during timeouts in play, you’re good to go.
Comfort and lockdown are high quality but you just didn’t get as much for your money as you did with the KD 5.
KD had another amazing season in 2013-14. Kevin Durant averaged a league-leading 32 ppg along with 7 rbpg and 6 apg. He was once again named to the All-Star team and the All-NBA first team and took home that year’s MVP trophy.
The OKC Thunder ended the year with 59 wins and made it all the way to the Western Conference finals, where they would ultimately fall to the San Antonio Spurs.
The Nike KD 6 was a very popular shoe back in 2013. The shoe came in a slew of different colorways, as well as several different builds. The Nike KD 6 elite was probably the highest-quality version of the shoe and had some of the best colorways.

Another stand out in the Kevin Durant Signature line, the KD 5 is a very well-rounded shoe.
The materials lacked ventilation but they were supportive and durable. The traction is great both indoors and outdoors, and the cushion featured a forefoot zoom air unit and an Airmax unit in the heel.
At this point during Kevin Durant’s career (2012-13 season), he was an established superstar in the league, and arguably one of the all-time greatest scorers. During the 2012 season, KD averaged 28 ppg, 8 rbpg, and 6 apg with an assist and a block. He was named to the All-Star team as well as the All-NBA first team. The Oklahoma City Thunder ended the season with 60 wins, but unfortunately fell to the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round of the playoffs.
The Nike KD 5 as we mentioned, was a great on-court performer, so much so that players in 2022 still used them on the court. There were several outstanding colorways of the shoe, but the “Aunt Perl” and the “Area 72 Colorways” were 2 of the more popular models.
